Stoudemire Announces Imminent Retirement from The NBA

Amar’e Stoudemire announced that he would retire from the NBA after 14 years of playing as a professional in the league.

33-year-old Stoudemire made the announcement while signing a new contract with the New York Knicks. Stoudemire will retire after playing for the Knicks for one more season.

Stoudemire played with the Miami Heat only just last season where he averaged about 6 points and 4 rebounds a game in 15 minute stretches of game play.

Stoudemire is a six-time All-Star winning veteran basketball player. He has a net worth of about $70 million and made just under $1 million last season.

He thanked James Dolan and New York Knick higher ups for signing him for one last season so that he could officially end his career as a New York Knick.

Stoudemire joined the Knicks in 2010 but missed a lot of games due to various back and knee injuries.

Stoudemire has averaged about 19 points, 8 rebounds and 1 block a game throughout his professional career.

He has played for the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat throughout his professional career.
