Rory McIlroy is the number one golfer in the world. It's a spot he's been gunning for since he was a kid. At age 9, McIlroy wrote a letter to then number one golf pro Tiger Woods, warning Tiger that he was coming for him.

Rory's uncle first broke the news by quoting the letter, “I’m coming to get you. This is the beginning. Watch this space.” Rory admitted to writing the letter but didn't remember exactly what he said. “A lot of those memories have kind of blurred together, but, yeah, it went something like that.” McIlroy was always very competitive.

It's unclear whether Tiger ever received the letter.

Rory is headed to Augusta to attempt to capture a career grand slam and become just the third golf pro to win all four majors by age 25, joining Tiger and Jack Nicklaus.

Will he face Woods at the Augusta National? Tiger has yet to publicly announce if he will be competing and has not played since droppingout of Torrey Pines in early February, but speculation has it his plane was spotted in Augusta and he might be there to play for the major.
