De Boer at Inter Milan: What to Expect?

Author: Raphael Minter

Frank De Boer signed a three year deal with Internazionale Milano on August 9, 2016 after the departure of former boss Roberto Mancini. After six seasons at Ajax and his philosophy of total football, how does Frank De Boer steer up the affairs of Internazionale Milano and help them get back to winning ways in the Italian Serie A and make a statement in the UEFA Champions League?

Inter Milan has been the team every club wanted to face this season after their abysmal pre-season campaign. During the International Champions Cup, the three-time European Champions were whitewashed by Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich and this has led to Roberto Mancini’s departure.

De Boer is a manager who is focused on playing entertaining football whiles getting the results in the process.

After four Eredivisie wins De Boer knows about managing a big club and with Suning Holding Group holding a major stake and starting a major project, Internazionale has gotten the man to help them get there.

Here are a few things De Boer would need to do to bring Internazionale back to the top.

De Boer Must Keep Mauro Icardi

Mauro Icardi has been the main target for many teams because of his youthful exuberance and his attribute as being one of the two young arrow heads in the game, the other being Alvaro Morata.

Many players have left the Italian league in recent seasons and the sale of Pogba has culminated in Icardi being the new poster boy of the league and as an Italian his interest in raising the status of the league would prove invaluable to Serie A’s quest in getting back to the pinnacle of European football.

De Boer Must Bring the Winning Mentality Back to Giuseppe Meazza

Inter Milan has been an average team for the last four seasons in the league and the Nerrazuri faithful are not assured of wins week in and week out and Frank De Boer as a manager who has played and managed in traditional teams knows all about this.

In the 2016/17 edition of the Milan Derby the performance of Internazionale Milano in the early stages of the league would throw more people into watching this game and De Boer knows all about derbies so would have to do his possible best to get the best out of the current Internazionale Milano squad.

With the likes of Antonio Candreva joining Internazionale Milano this summer, De Boer has been handed the best possible squad in years and he should do more with this current squad and resurrect the passion in the team and help power Internazionale and the city of Milan back to its glory days.
