Three Players Likely to be Moved at the MLB Trade Deadline

Author: Sonali

The MLB deadline is nearing which is scheduled for August 31. There won’t be any surprise to see yet more surprises like what we have seen all through the season & even before that. August 31 will come up with a bag of surprises for the MLB. This is going to be the unique MLB deadline with an expanded playoff field and a few days left for the regular season. Between the expanded playoff & the shortened 60-game schedule, this MLB trade is going to be something different.

With no MiLB, this season and heavy revenue loss organizations will more tightly cling to their prospects. However, even in this unusual situation when there are going to be only a few sellers there would not be any dearth of great talents.

Here we have jotted down some unexpected names on the list of players who can be traded let’s dive into the names:

  1. J.T. Realmuto

Team: Philadelphia Phillies

Things had to happen in different ways as they are looking at this point in time. In 2020, if not much, the Phillies were expected to grab a wild-card spot or maybe contending for the division. But things are going around pretty differently. While there is still time for the Phillies to make things work but if that does not happen against the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals — there is no other option than considering some backup plan.

  1. Mike Clevinger.

Team: Cleveland Indians

Mike Clevinger could be on the MLB trade deadline — the Cleveland Indians have reasoning to do so. It is when he violated the COVID-19 protocols and brought the lives of the teammates, and the staff to danger. And, that is not the only reason — he lied to his teammates and messed with their health after which he was sent to the alternate site. In addition to that, the Cleveland Indians are open to traditional Clevinger because there is plenty of pitching, but the lineup for Cleveland is the worst in the entire MLB. Usually, this does not happen that a No. 2 pitcher who is playing under a contract that is team-friendly is traded. And, under normal circumstances, this would not have been possible anyway. But, with the kind of environment, Clevinger would be put under the trading list. This is definitely going to be a tough decision for the Indians to make.

  1. Kyle Seager.

Team: Seattle Mariners

Kyle Seager was drafted by Seattle in 2009. He made his debut with MLB in 2011, and since then he has been one of the backbones of the team. With the kind of game he has played and resilience he has shown all through his games, the team definitely loves him. But, when it’s about creating a team refresh no one would believe that a 32-year-old third baseman can do much to the decision. Mariners are believed to be one of the sellers who would lead up to the MLB trade deadline and some names may include Taijuan Walker (starting pitcher), Matt Magill, and Taylor Williams. As the MLB trade deadline approaches it could be some of the biggest names whom the fans love.
