Revenge against Chase Utley won’t be coming early in Game 3 of the Mets-Dodgers NLDS — if at all.
The second baseman, who broke Ruben Tejada’s leg with a takeout slide on Saturday night, is out of the lineup for the Dodgers.w
Manager Don Mattingly stuck with Howie Kendrick at second base, despite the lefty-swinging Utley’s impressive lifetime numbers (6-for-18) against Mets starter Matt Harvey.
Mets manager Terry Collins said before the game he had instructed Harvey not to throw at Utley or anyone in the Dodgers lineup for the pivotal game.
“We’re not throwing at anybody,” Terry Collins said. “We’ll figure this out at a later date.”
