Do The USC Trojans Deserve For The NCAA Basketball Picks?

Author: Mansi

NCAAB is one of the Premier Basketball Championships regulated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. It regulates 1,268 North American institutions in the USA and Canada including the organization of sports activities at the collegiate level. NCAAB consists of 350 schools under 32 Divisions.

With only online classes of what's left of universities and colleges, campus basketball courts have been empty for months now. After the schedules were out for March NCAAB games, and the courts prepared, and with anticipation from fans and players, the March Madness that holds the nail-biting excitement around NCAAB was canceled for the year 2020 due to coronavirus pandemic.

But finally the silver lining after the air of 2020 disappointment. Recently NCAA Division|Council has approved a practice game plan for basketball sporting activity to be starting from mid-July. Players can now begin practicing with their coaches. Some of them already started with a light activity plan. These reignite the most exciting discussion for the NCAAB picks.

One of the PAC-12.

Long time rival of UCLA and one of the successful teams of all-time in college athletic programs in the USA…

USC Trojans with their coach Andy Enfield leading them to greatness since the 2013-14 game season has been making waves around, raising the question among fans: Do they deserve the pick?

Fresh Recruits.

USC Trojans are losing a few of their gem players this year like Jonah Mathews, Daniel Utomi, their small forward Onyeka Okongwu averaging 16.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.2 steals entering the NBA draft and shooting guard Elijah Weaver after two seasons.

6'10'' forward Boubacar Coulibaly and 6'11'' center Evan Mobley, are the remaining USC Trojans in the frontcourt. Evan Mobley holds 3rd rank in the country according to 247 Sports.

A tweet from Jake Weingarten brought good news for the team. Former Santa Clara guard Tahj Eaddy will be a transfer player and committed to USC became immediately eligible under Coach Andy Enfield. Although, it will be an exaggeration to say his position won't be without any competition. Soon to be USC Trojan junior Evan Weaver and Ethan Anderson, USC sophomore, will be his significant competitors. Joining him is: guard Isaiah White and forward player Chevez Goodwin.

Game Strength.

3-pointers plays a significant role in determining how deserving a team is for the NCAAB picks.

The USC Trojans' victory against Washington State was one of the reminders of USC's game strength: their 3-pointer game plan. Daniel Utomi with an average of 14.2 during the 2018-19 season, proved himself by leading the team with a season-high of 23 points.

USC shooting guard Jonah Mathews is yet another, sealing them for USC Trojans with a very well executed game plan: 3-pointer, with a jaw-dropping 1 second remaining.

USC Trojans under Coach Andy Enfield have always performed a 35.0 percent distance shot.

New transfer players Isaiah White averaged 12.2 for Portland last year and 9.1 average Tahj Eaddy made a 33.0 percent 3-pointer for Santa Clara. Eaddy earlier had soared to 15 points and 3.2 assist in every game with 37.9 percent downtown shooting and 80.3 percent free-throw line. The upcoming game season with USC Trojans will be giving them the same opportunity.

2019 Analysis.

USC Trojans in last year's NCAAB got to their possession 22 wins with only 9 losses. Onyeka Okongwu got most of the high-points for the team on an average with Jonah Mathews not far-behind than him.

Nick Rakocevic proved to be strong support by holding his ground firmly with 150 hi rebounds.

While Ethan Anderson was leading with Hi assist for USC Trojans

With Jonah Mathews and Daniel Utomi leading the team to a comfortable win against the Wildcats outrebounded by 39-32, they have proved their defense strong, in October last year.

Evan Mobley, Max Agbonkpolo from sophomore, and Boubacar Coulibaly are expected to be playing for longer minutes.

USC Trojans got players with excellent mobility and height of not less than 6'7'' that proves to be an added advantage for the team. It would give them the needed edge in their matches against the other PAC-12 teams.
