In what is not much of a surprise, Andrew Wiggins has announced that he will be going to the NBA after just one season with the Kansas Jayhawks. The 6-foot-8 forward was a highly sought after recruit coming out of high school when he announced his intent to attend Kansas after his high school career. In his one season with the Jayhawks, Wiggins recorded 17.1 points per game while grabbing around six rebounds per as well. He won the Big 12 freshman of the year award, was first-team all-conference and was a second-team All-American. Now, Wiggins will head to the next level without having to deal with any injuries throughout his brief college career, which could be considered a helping factor in deciding to go pro. Now the NBA world waits to see what Wiggins' teammate and the 7-foot center from Cameroon, Joel Embiid, will do when it comes to deciding on declaring for the draft. Embiid dealt with some injuries late in the season and it affected him a bit, but the talented big man averaged 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game for the Jayhawks this season. Both players are expected to be Top 5 picks in the NBA draft should they both declare for the NBA draft.
