Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Germany’s Major Football League, Bundesliga Restarts. It is great news for the sport-hungry people that they are getting something exciting on their platter from last weekend. After the shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, the German league is going to be the first major football league to restart. It’s the best thing since sliced bread for the sports freaks. They can once again enjoy their favorite players in action. However, many fans were opposing this restart, the players were again in action after the two-months coronavirus lockdown.

But, of course, this new start with everything afresh! The Bundesliga is not going to look as it was till the last game happened. When on the 16th of May, the game resumed — this newness was all seen on the ground. There were no children accompanying players, no contacts between the rivals before the game began, and not to mention, absolutely NO handshakes with match officials or the referee.

The stadium is all empty with only around 300 key officials and staff members present in the stadium at the time of the match. Players have been strictly given instructions not to shake hands, do any kind of celebration or spit during or after the game. Apart from the staff members, journalists, security personnel, and firefighters are allowed in the stadium. Before the kick-off, the team members are not allowed for any kind of photography. Everyone will have to adhere to the Government guidelines as a part of the coronavirus prevention measures. For substitute players, it is going to be necessary that they are sitting apart and are wearing masks. There are also sessions and players themselves are advised to set themselves emotionally strong and deal with the sombreness of playing in an empty ground.

Coaches are allowed to take off their masks for the moment, they are required to instruct players — but then they have to strictly maintain a 1.5 meters distance between each other. To invigorate the environment in the absence of fans cheering their favorite players, music & cardboard cutouts of fans are being used. For television audiences, cheers, chants, and gasps of the audience are made available in the recorded form.

According to a survey, many football fans were not in favor of the German football league, Bundesliga to restart. Several clubs & the football authorities were keen to get the game back in action — financial brink was one of the major reasons for this desperation to resume the game. And right after there was a drop seen in the coronavirus cases, the game was given go-ahead by Chancellor Angela Merkel.
