Amidst various speculations, the schedule of NFL 2020 was finally revealed on May 7. With coronavirus pandemic messing up most of the usual sports plans, it was a relief to get to know that football won't be missing for long. With the new schedule all set, America is hoping to be able to see the games from the stands. Although it seems unlikely under current circumstances, fans don't want to be met with despair.

The New 2020 Schedule

Putting an end to all the suppositions, the National Football League released its schedule recently. It is a fully packed schedule keeping teams busy juggling between games. The 2020 season will begin on September 10, as the NFL Kickoff Game is brought to daylight. The fans will have to wait until next year for the playoffs, which are scheduled to start on January 9, 2021.

As far as the most awaited championship is concerned, the Superbowl LV will conclude on February 7, marking the end of the season as well. This final game will be hosted at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The regular season extending over 17-weeks will conclude on January 3, 2021. The season will then move on to the next stages.

Currently, the NFL is reluctant about cutting down on any games and plans to move ahead with the complete schedule as before. They don't want to let the COVID situation affect the games. However, if the need arises, alterations will be made in the schedule as told by Commissioner Goodell.

The NFL has already put off the international games due to logistic issues, which will be difficult to manage as the movement of players won't be easy across the borders. The preseason schedule hasn't been made clear and the practice games are still in uncertainty mode. Though, it is presumed that the games will be held 15-20 days before the beginning of the regular season.
