California to Allow Fans at the Outdoor Sporting Events

California was one of those states, which hasn’t allowed fans at the sporting events since the coronavirus outbreak took place. Since the National Football League began most of the states have allowed the presence of fans for sporting events, but it was California, which took a different approach until now.

California had the most stringent COVID-19 protocols across the many states in the USA and it had not allowed spectators to watch their favorite games from the stadium. But, per the latest developments, California will allow fans for professional sporting events in the Outdoor stadium.

California all prepared to allow fans.

The health officials of California county made an announcement about this latest development after a fall in the coronavirus infection rate was reported. Right from the onset of the pandemic, there have been pretty strict health & safety rules the state had in place. It is only after the health officials confirmed a decrease in the infection rate that the state is allowing fans in the stadium.

However, the only counties allowing fans in the stadium currently would be -- Santa Clara, San Francisco & Alameda. These are only the counties that are meeting the health & safety guidelines & the COVID-19 protocols. Just after the announcement of California allowing fans in the stadium for the sporting events came in -- Santa Clara released an official statement saying that they are still not prepared to make this change happen in Levi's Stadium.

The county officials said that it is prepared only to allow fans up to 14,000 as per the guidelines of the state. But, the final decision came in when the health officials suggested not taking this risk -- as this will only lead to more and more people getting infected with the coronavirus. They said that this can only lead to deteriorating the situation.

Other Teams & their Status

The Chargers and Los Angeles Rams are still not in a position that they can allow fans into the stadium. It looks like that the Niners may take this further step & allow fans to attend games. This NFL season, it was only 15 teams who allowed fans to attend games, which included:

Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Houston Texans.

The league officials in coordination with the state’s health officials -- took this decision mindfully to not allow fans in the stadium as it could have only caused the problem to shoot up. It was like putting players as well as the fans in trouble. It could have been not possible to control everyone -- the fans would have been using the same restroom and how far it could have been possible for the people around to stop them from yelling & shouting during the game.

On this new development of California opening its doors for spectators in the stadium, the 49ers said, "We will continue to collaborate with local public health officials to implement a plan that ensures a plan that protects the health and wellness.”

Let’s see how this decision of California counties to open doors for fans goes -- many other NFL teams are already allowing fans in the stadium.
