Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton was injured in a car accident outside of the Panthers’ home stadium. Newton was apparently T-Boned by a sedan. Newton was driving a truck, which flipped over.
Emergency vehicles arrived on the scene, and Newton was taken from the scene on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance and brought to the hospital. Reports say Cam first resisted treatment, but after failing to get up and walk on his own power relented.
A witness claimed Cam had been following the proper driving regulations and had the right of way when he was hit. The other driver did not suffer major injuries.
After being admitted to the hospital, it was learned that Cam suffered two transverse fractures in his back and will have to stay in the hospital overnight. What this injury means for the Carolina Panthers' season is yet to be determined.
