LeSean McCoy Angry Over Trade to Bills

Philadelphia Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy is about to be traded to the Buffalo Bills, and he is none too pleased about it. The trade was announced Tuesday and will become official next week when the NFL’s new year begins. McCoy will be traded to the Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso.

The trade may be due in large part to financial concerns for the Eagles. McCoy is a big name runner and, therefore, pulls in the big bucks. McCoy had been expected the Eagles may have come to him to negotiate a restructuring of his contract to make the dollars and cents work, but he was definitely not prepared for an all out trade. A source close to McCoy said, “It was unexpected. I’ll tell you that much.”

McCoy is not eager to leave Philadelphia and even less ready to head to Buffalo, a cold, bitter place to play. McCoy may be used to playing in the freezing temperatures. He is a Pennsylvania native who has played every level of football in the state up till now. But McCoy is used to winning, and Buffalo is not a place where much of that happens. In Philly, McCoy was competing for division titles. In Buffalo, he will be competing against the snow and not much else.

“Honestly, he’s frustrated,” the source said McCoy asked, “Why me?” He does not want to go to Buffalo and may make waves to try to prevent the trade from going through.
