Jets Trade for Brandon Marshall

The much-maligned New York Jets have made their first big off-season maneuver to try to rebuild the franchise. The Jets just announced a trade with the Chicago Bears for star wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Marshall is a five-time Pro Bowler and has had seven 1,000 plus yard seasons. He is a bonafide number one receiver, something the Jets have lacked in recent years. Alongside Eric Decker, he should make the Jets receiving core much stronger. Now, if only they had a quarterback to throw the receivers the ball. You can’t win ‘em all.

The trade will go through pending a physical. Marshall did suffer from injuries last season, causing his production to drop, but assuming, he is healthy, this could be a huge get for the Jets. It is not known what the Jets gave up in exchange for Marshall but reports say the Bears were looking for a mid-round draft pick. Marshall has three years left on his contract and is set to make $7.5 million dollars next season.
