Mario Gotze Has Rejoined Dortmund

Mario Gotze has joined Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee which tie him to the club until 2020 and also serves as his second spell with the club.

Gotze left Dortmund at the end of the the 2012/13 season that saw Dortmund lose out the Champions League to Bayern Munich in a 1-2 loss at Wembley.

Gotze was never the creative midfielder he once was when he joined Bayern Munich. With strong competition from Thiago Alcantara, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos and Javi Martinez, he was relegated to the bench and offered the role of a super-sub.

The departures of Toni Kroos and Bastian Schweinsteiger to Real Madrid and Manchester United respectively in 2014 and 2015 was supposed to pave way for the mezmerizing midfielder but it was not the case. Former Bayern Munich coach and current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola acquired Xabi Alonso and the box-to-box versatile midfielder Arturo Vidal leaving no place for the young German international.

Borussia Dortmund lost the core of the their team to Bayern Munich in the process with Matt Hummels also exiting the club in the summer transfer window but luckily enough they have gotten one of the stars back in Mario Gotze.

Gotze to Help Tuchel Build a Disintegrated Dortmund

The only standout players at Dortmund presently are Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Shinji Kagawa, the injury prone Marco Reus and the recently acquired Mario Gotze after Hendrick Mkhitaryan's exit to Manchester United this summer.

Dortmund have been the main competitors to Bayern Munich winning back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012 and Gotze is going to ensure that the tradition happens again.

Gotze would serve as the perfect link between defense and attack. Thomas Tuchel has acquired a player who can create goalscoring opportunities for Aubameyang and who can also score in the process.

His acquisition would also boost the morale of the squad and would cause players like Aubameyang, Reus and Kagawa to stay at Dortmund.
Mario Gotze is back and his contributions are going to prove invaluable to the club and help them make a huge impact in the German Bundesliga, Uefa Champions League and DFB Pokal.
