Inter Milan Must Keep Mauro Icardi to Save Inter Milan

Author: Raphael Minter

Mauro Icardi has been linked with a number of clubs in this Summer Mercato but FC Internazionale Milano should not accept offers for the player because Paul Pogba is set for a medical that takes him away from the league and Mauro Icardi would be the poster boy of Serie A.

Serie A has not been attractive for the last four seasons because there are no players to watch because of the unpardonable transfer fees that are splashed on the heads of footballers that are being met by owners of clubs in the other top-tier European leagues.

Aside this, Juventus has dominated the league, winning the last five championships because they have the players and resources to compete equally in Europe. They have also added the services of Gonzalo Higuain to their set up clearly indicating their vision of retaining the league and improving their performances in Europe.

Juventus continues to be the main competitor for Italy in Europe having represented the country in the 2015 Champions League final.
Paul Pogba has been the main center of attraction for the league in the past two years and he has paid his dues to the league representing Serie A in the 2015 FIFPRO World XI something which seems to collapse amid his departure to Manchester United.
Mauro Icardi is a young Italian prospect who has the zeal to win and carry Internazionale Milano back to its former place in European football.

There aren't many young prospects in football who are out and out strikers but Mauro Icardi fits this bill perfectly.

As a young striker he is being guided under the expert tutelage of Roberto Mancini, a manager who knows the tradition of Italian football well and who can make Icardi the best striker in the world.

Many players like Carlos Bacca has been targeted by clubs outside Italy because the Italian league has falling down the perking order to the extent of no star players willing to compete in the league.

Inter Milan Must Give Icardi the Needed Incentives to Stay

Roberto Mancini has made Mauro Icardi the captain of the club but to contemporary footballers, it is not enough. Luis Figo traded Barcelona for Real Madrid and Robin Van Persie traded Arsenal for Manchester United.

A salary increase and added bonuses would be a better way of motivating the player.

Internazionale Milano should also purchase top-notch footballers at the end of the transfer window given their new direction under new owners to give the Italian striker the security of competing for trophies.

After Internazionale Milano's poor showing at the International Champions Cup losing in all the games they played, culminating in a disappointing performance against Bayern Munich that ended in a 4 -0 thrashing means that Icardi would be vital to Internazionale Milano's success this season.

Serie A is losing its stars and recognition, keeping Icardi is one of the steps in rejuvenating a depleting league.
