2020 NBA Mock Draft Version 2.0

The NBA has finally adjusted its timeline with new dates for a draft and a draft lottery. The bottom eight teams have already been locked with the NBA announcing its decision on including just 22 teams during the league’s restarts that are to take place in Orlando at Disney World. This decision will leave those eight teams with a long gap between the last game that they played in March this year and the 2020-21 season that is slated to begin in December. However, the franchise will get enough time to focus on the 2020 NBA Draft.

With that decision in place, here comes an improved NBA mock draft reflecting on how the first round will look like. Take a look:

NBA MOCK DRAFT

Round 1 - Pick 1

Anthony Edwards. 

PROJECTED TEAM: Golden State

PROSPECT RNK: 5th

POSITION RANK: 1st

PPG: 19.1

RPG: 5.2

APG: 2.8

Anthony Edwards with its amazing defensive abilities has the potential to help Golden State, improve shot-making on the wing and depth. 

 

Round 1 - Pick 2

LaMelo.

PROJECTED TEAM: Cleveland

PROSPECT RNK: 1st

POSITION RANK: 1st

PPG: 17.0

RPG: 7.6

APG: 7.0

3P%: 25.0%

LaMelo’s vision and playmaking are much better than the other prospects. He makes for one of the linchpins of the team, which can take them to the winning end.

Onyeka Okongwu 

PROJECTED TEAM: Minnesota

PROSPECT RNK: 3rd

POSITION RANK: 1st

PPG: 16.2

RPG: 8.6

BPG: 2.7

Onyeka Okongwu has the potential to defend all from the perimeter to the post. He can help the team protect the rim and can act as another defensive eraser.

Isaac Okoro

AUBURN • FR • 6'6" / 225 LBS

PROJECTED TEAM: Atlanta

PROSPECT RNK: 7th

POSITION RANK: 3rd

Isaac Okoro SF, the 6-foot-6 prospect in stature is amazing with his IQ and he is the one who can lead the team to the winning end without even doing anything.

Killian Hayes 

FRANCE • 6'5" / 192 LBS

PROJECTED TEAM: Detroit

PROSPECT RNK: 2nd

POSITION RANK: 2nd

Killian Hayes PG, the 18-year-old has grown over the years as a playmaker on the ball. He is a good decision-maker and has the potential to give the Pistons a skillful teammate for the future.

Tyrese Haliburton 

IOWA STATE • SOPH • 6'5" / 175 LBS

PROJECTED TEAM: New York

PROSPECT RNK: 9th

POSITION RANK: 3rd

3P%: 41.9%

This tall skinny framed lead guard who is all but an amazing blend of sharp IQ & the skills that make him a great player would definitely keep his team at the winning end.

Deni Avdija SF

ISRAEL • 6'9" / 215 LBS

PROJECTED TEAM: Chicago

PROSPECT RNK: 4th

POSITION RANK: 1st

PPG: 7.7

RPG: 4.1

For the Bulls, Deni Avdijais a prudent pluck. The Israeli star has great playmaking skills. At the age of 19, the two-time FIBA European champ has been a winner almost everywhere.

Obi Toppin 

DAYTON • SOPH • 6'9" / 220 LBS

PROJECTED TEAM: Charlotte

PROSPECT RNK: 6th

POSITION RANK: 1st

The presence of Obi Toppin,  the consensus Player of the Year in college hoops last season will make Charlotte one of the strongest contenders.

James Wiseman

PROJECTED TEAM: Washington

PROSPECT RNK: 8th

POSITION RANK: 2nd

Picking James Wiseman is the first step Washington’s have already taken towards their win. The plug-and-play shot-blocker is the best bet of the draft as the evaluators say.

Aaron Nesmith SF

VANDERBILT • SOPH • 6'6" / 213 LBS 

PROJECTED TEAM: Phoenix

PROSPECT RNK: 10th

POSITION RANK: 4th

3P%: 52.2%

Aaron Nesmith is the only three players in the last 20 years to have crossed the 50% shooting limit in the last 20 years. He is definitely going to be the draft's most deadly shooter.

Theo Maledon 

FRANCE • 6'4" / 174 LBS 

PROJECTED TEAM: San Antonio

PROSPECT RNK: 11th

POSITION RANK: 4th

Théo Maledon, the French guard with his versatility & shot-making will definitely help San Antonio’s find a way through any situation.

Devin Vassell 

FLORIDA STATE • SOPH • 6'7" / 194 LBS

PROJECTED TEAM: New Orleans

PROSPECT RNK: 12th

POSITION RANK: 5th

PPG: 12.7

RPG: 5.1

APG: 1.6

3P%: 41.5%

 

Devin Vassell is already known for his shooting in each of his two college seasons, above 41% from 3-point range. Orleans can consider, he would be ready to hit the fields from day one.

Cole Anthony

NORTH CAROLINA • FR • 6'3" / 190 LBS 

PROJECTED TEAM: Sacramento

PROSPECT RNK: 14th

POSITION RANK: 5th

PPG: 18.5

RPG: 5.7

APG: 4.0

3P%: 34.8%

 

This is going to be the perfect draft for Sacramento for both the team and Anthony himself. This versatile scorer would open up ways for the team and for his potential to grow.

Saddiq Bey. 

VILLANOVA • SOPH • 6'8" / 216 LBS 

PROJECTED TEAM: Portland

PROSPECT RNK: 16th

POSITION RANK: 6th

3P%: 45.1%

A 6-8 wing-like Saddiq Bey will necessarily be one of the cornerstones for Portland. He is all skilled to shoot 3-pointers at an elite clip and defend four positions.

Kira Lewis Jr. 

ALABAMA • SOPH • 6'3" / 165 LBS 

PROJECTED TEAM: Orlando

PROSPECT RNK: 17th

Kira Lewis Jr. PG while playing for Alabama, in the last season, he averaged 18.5 points and 5.2 assists. All this and just at the age of 19 years - a gem for Orlando.

Tyrese Maxey SG.

KENTUCKY • FR • 6'3" / 198 LBS

For the team Minnesota, Tyrese Maxey will make for an elite defender and driver. He will add some useful and complementary set of skills for the team with Karl-Anthony & D'Angelo Russell in place.

Precious Achiuwa

PROSPECT RNK: 31st

Achiuwa's unfathomable versatility is the most important gift for the team Boston. This pool of skills - shot-blocker, rim-runner & tenacious rebounder - can take the team to the winning end, given he is put to use in the right way.

Josh Green

PROJECTED TEAM: Dallas

PROSPECT RNK: 13th

Josh Green has proved his skills as a 3-and-D archetype. And, he can perfectly add value as a role player.

Jahmi'us Ramsey

Jahmi'us Ramsey is a wonderful shooter. At Texas Tech he was rated a catch and shoot scorer in the 91st percentile.

Patrick Williams.

PROJECTED TEAM: Brooklyn

PROSPECT RNK: 23rd

Patrick Williams has good length and size and should be a popular prospect teams target in this range given his upside.

Cassius Stanley.

Cassius Stanley rated as a catcher and shooter in the 93rd percentile playing in the last season.

R.J. Hampton 

NEW ZEALAND • 6'5" / 185 LBS

PROSPECT RNK: 24th

POSITION RANK: 6th

 

RJ Hampton’s athleticism makes him a wonderful NBA prospect. Just at the young age of 19, his good history of in-house development is not bad.

Tre Jones

Tre Jone with his smart decision-making skills can at least be a competent second unit guard. He is all aware of how to make high-level reads. In his sophomore season at Duke, he showed tremendous improvement in his shooting skills.

Devon Dotson. 

KANSAS • SOPH • 6'2" / 185 LBS

Devon Dotson became a consensus All-American for Kansas in the last season - it was his toughness and speed that played a vital role.

Leandro Bolmaro.

PROSPECT RNK: 28th

POSITION RANK: 10th

 

Leandro Bolmaro, the 6-7 Argentinian is not only a reliable decision-maker, but he will add to the winning spirit with his good skills on the ball as a creator.

Jaden McDaniels.

Desmond Bane.
