Positive COVID-19 Test Result for Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook, the American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the NBA has tested positive for coronavirus. Westbrook has been quarantined since he tested positive for COVID-19. The Rockets point guard made the announcement related to his test results on his Twitter handle. In his announcement, he also pointed towards taking everything seriously that has been advised as a precautionary measure for protecting oneself from coronavirus — wearing masks, washing hands & social distancing.

“I tested positive for COVID-19 prior to my team's departure to Orlando. I’m currently feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to joining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you for all the well wishes and continued support. Please take this virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up! #whynot."

Per the planned schedule, Westbrook had to leave for Orlando this week with the roster. But, after his test results came out to be positive, he will be quarantined until he gets clear of the coronavirus test when he can get approval to enter the bubble. The national basketball league is set to resume from July 30. Before the beginning of the postseason, Rockets are expected to fight the game for a better playoff position.

NBA COVID-19 Positive Tests.

Westbrook is not the only one to have been tested positive for coronavirus, however, he is the latest NBA player to have entered the list of positive COVID-19 cases on the roaster. In addition to Westbrook, other players who have previously tested positive for coronavirus include Spencer Dinwiddie, Nikola Jokic, and more. Among these players, Dinwiddie has opted out from the season and is going to Orlando after getting tested positive for coronavirus. The NBA has set its rules & regulations for keeping the COVID-19 positive players out of the bubble. The league is testing each and every player before they can be headed to Orlando for the start of the season.

For the Rockets to win the championship, they will necessarily need Westbrook onboard healthy & hearty. He has been the backbone of the team since he was traded to Rockets last summer.
