The Los Angeles Clippers have acquired 22-year-old Austin Rivers in a 3-team trade. There’s just one catch: Rivers is Clippers’ head coach Doc Rivers’ son.
Doc says his son will be treated no differently than any other player on his team, no easier nor harder, just the same. Doc says he’s not worried about other player’s reactions. There will be no special treatment.
There will be something special, though. When Austin takes the court for the Clippers it will mark the first time in the history of the NBA that a father has ever coached a son.
