Following the death of the great Muhammad Ali, Kevin Ferguson, or better known as Kimbo Slice, was hospitalized earlier today after cops were dispatched from his Miami home in order to prevent a potential gathering of fans and bystanders. Although his family has not released any statements on the events leading to his hospitalization, sources have confirmed that Slice suffered from a heart attack in his home, and no form of combat or training is suspected to have played a part in his fatal condition.

Later, after being placed in a hospital, Bellator MMA had announced that Kimbo Slice has passed.

“Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo’s friends, fans, and teammates”.

-Bellator president Scott Coker

Kimbo Slice was a 42 years old, 6-foot-2, and weighed near 230 pounds. He was primarily known as a brawler, although he recently began his professional MMA career signed with Bellator. He had a professional record of 5 wins, 2 losses, and 4 TKO’s and was scheduled to headline Bellator 158 in London this summer in a fight against James Thompson.
