Candidates Who Can Make Noise For Heisman Trophy

No matter which list we make for LSU or any other college football, one name which we cannot keep away is Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow is right now in the form of his life. He had an unbelievable season and maybe one of the best in the history of college football. He almost won every possible award including the Heisman trophy. He not only performed well on an individual level but also helped Tigers to be the national champions. In the process of being champions, he also created a new record of 60 touchdown passes.  

No one expected such a brilliant performance from Joe Burrow. In fact, when the season of 2019 was about to start Tua Tagovailoa was clearly favorite. Both Burrow and Tagovailoa are gone due to injury as are four a greater number of the best six vote-getters from a year ago. 

Here is a list of Top 5 players who look promising this season for winning the Heisman trophy in 2020. 

5 Contenders who can make it for the Heisman Trophy for 2019-20

1. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State.

If we consider 2019-20 as a regular-season, the first player who will come in the list has to be Fields. Fields have delivered in the crucial moments for his team, and he has been consistent throughout the season. If we looked at his stats and impact which brings him deserves to be the player of the season. He has a very impressive average of around 9 PPA.  

When we do well, there is always someone who is doing better than us. In this case, as well, Fields was good but Burrow was a show stopper, and he was getting tough competition from Jalen Hurts. However, due to some unhealthy relationships in his team cost him to stay at number three position. But this takes nothing away from the Fields he is still a worthy contender for the Trophy this season.  

2. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson.

Lawrence did not start well as he was expected, but he made up for it with the brilliant comeback in the second half breaking a few records. 

Lawrence is a very skillful player, and he is one of those players who you simply can't put out of the game. If you compare his stats with other players like Joe Burrow and Justin Fields he is definitely not a long way behind them. We can look forward to him as a tough contender for the Heisman Trophy.  

3. Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson.

Etienne is a good athlete and has a decent average of almost 8 yards per carrying. When it comes to ball carriers no one is near him, and we can also say he is the best ball carrier right now in the nation. There is no doubt about his capability and if things fall at its place he will surely be voted for the Heisman Trophy. 

He stunned school football fans and NFL ability evaluators the same when he declared he would come back to Clemson for his senior season. Etienne ran for almost 1,600 yards and had around 20 touchdowns while averaging 8 yards per carrying as a lesser, and he furthermore contributed with 430 getting yards and four scores on 37 gatherings.

4. Ian Book, QB, Notre Dame.

Ian Book had an exceptional season he threw almost 3,035 yards with more than 30 touchdowns and only six interceptions in 2019 while averaging very close to 8 yards per pass attempt which completed to 60.2 percent of his passes.  

Book additionally demonstrated skills as a sprinter with 546 surging yards and four touchdowns on the ground. In spite of the fact that his general numbers were strong, Book devoured any semblance of New Mexico and Bowling Green in the principal half of the period. 5. Sam Ehlinger, QB, Texas.

But this season Sam is having a good team and With a more advantageous supporting cast and new organizers on the two sides of the football, both Texas and Ehlinger can step forward in 2020. Ehlinger could make an authentic Heisman push.
