Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback creates history. He is the first-ballot Hall of Famer player. Rodgers became the seventh player in NFL history to throw 400 career touchdown passes. It was when he was playing against the Philadelphia Eagles midway in the third quarter. This was the 36th touchdown of the season and third of the day for Rodger.
Tom Brady of Tampa Bay has 569 touchdown passes to his name who is the all-time leader & Drew Brees of the Orleans who is currently on the injured list has 565 touchdown passes. The fourth on the list is great Brett Favre (former Packers) has 508 and Dan Marino with 420 is the fifth on the list. Philip Rivers of Indianapolis by adding two touchdown passes made it to 415.
Rodgers creates history in his game No. 193
This was a 193 game for Rodgers. Previously, it was Brees who reached 400 career touchdowns -- he achieved this in 205 games. Rodgers had a 157.1 passer rating, three touchdowns, and 17-of-20 passing for 244 yards during the touchdown.
Late in the first half, he became the first quarterback to have five seasons with 35-plus touchdowns in NFL history. And, with that record, Rodger broke the tie between Manning, Brees & Brady with four such seasons.
That is not enough to say, throughout NFL history there have been only 11 seasons with eight or fewer interceptions and of 35-plus touchdowns. Of them all, Roger has four and he is already on the path to getting his fifth with his 37 touchdowns vs. four interceptions.
What Rodgers said after becoming an NFL history maker.
Talking about this achievement Roger said, “I remember Favre-y talking about some of the milestones like this mean you’ve been around a long time, played a lot of games. There’s also the consistency aspect of that, being able to stay healthy for a decent amount of my career minus a couple of collarbones, and then being efficient for so long. There’s a lot that goes into 50,000 yards. I’m proud of it. It’s more of a longevity record, which, playing behind Favre, you realize how important it is to stay on the field and play through injuries and I’ve always prided myself on trying to do that. It was a fun day of milestones hitting my 50,000 on the touchdown to Robert, Big Dog’s 400th catch on a touchdown, Davante’s 500th catch on a touchdown as well. Some fun milestones today and our 100th win against the Bears.”
Playing against Chicago, last week Rodger became the 11th player in the history of the NFL to have reached 50,000 career passing yards. And, he reached this milestone on his 6,436th career passing attempt. In the past, only Ben Roethlisberger has reached that milestone on his 6,361career passing attempt.
Sneak peek into his previous six seasons heading into 2020.
The 37-year old quarterback is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. With his latest record, he has become the fastest quarterback by throwing 400 touchdowns in 193 career games. This has outwitted the previous record of Saints legend Drew Brees of 205 games. All through his career, Rodgers has played brilliantly. Let’s look into his previous six seasons before 2020 (from 2014 to 2019).
