Philadelphia Eagles WR Agholor Will Not Face Rape Charges

The District Attorney of Philadelphia, Seth Williams, based on investigations conducted by its office and the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit, will not pursue any rape charges against Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor.

Agholor, 23-years-old, has been accused of raping a 27-year old exotic performer on June 9, 2016 inside the Cheerleader’s Gentleman Club in Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Magazine and several other news outlets, after a thorough investigation and interview process involving staff at the Cheerleader’s Gentlemen Club, it was decided by investigators that claims of rape against Agholor could not be credibly substantiated.

Witnesses and performers in the Cheerleader’s Gentlemen Club don’t dispute that Agholor and the performer may have engaged in a sexual act. In fact, several performers stated that the rape claim against Agholor was initiated only after a payment dispute erupted between Agholor and his accuser, according to sources at NJ.com.

Agholor’s attorney, Fortunato “Fred” Perri, Jr., publicly reiterated that Agholor had always been innocent and had committed no crimes.

Agholor has kept an extremely low profile throughout the investigation process. He has been regularly staying at home or staying with family

Whether Agholor makes a public statement pertaining to the case or completely ignores the issue is unknown at the moment. As players report for mandatory training camp drills and exercises, we have yet to see whether Agholor makes a public statement or not.
