Soccer Update: Top Betting Picks For Liga MX Round 2

Author: Mansi

This is one of the most important matches for the Toluca team as they would be hosting the San Luis and looking for their first points of the season after their loss of 3-1 against flying Monterrey. Monterrey is considered one of the most talented squads in the whole league and is the favorites to win the title.

It was a pretty decent performance by the Toluca in their last match, as they managed a scoreline of 2-1 until the half time. The game was pretty competitive as Toluca were much more active. It was in the last 5 minutes when the Monterrey eleven shots and out of those eleven, five shots were on target.

The transfer of star midfielder Leo Fernandez to Tigres in the Summer transfer window has made things a bit complicated for the Toluca's, but they have enough depth in the midfield position to score more goals. The center forward, Michael Estrada, is supremely talented and can easily take advantage of San Luis's weak defensive back.

On the other hand, San Luis is coming off a 1-1 draw from the match against Juarez. The San Luis team dominated the first 30 minutes, but after a good start, the midfielders seemed to lay off and could not position the ball correctly.

According to the last year's squad view, the Toluca's still lack the defensive capabilities, and they have done nothing in the summer transfer window to improve their defense. Whereas on the other hand, San Luis is still in search of a forward who could expose Toluca's defense.

Prediction: We can thus see a hard-fought 1-0 winning margin for Toluca at the end of the 90.

MATCH 2: Querétaro FC vs. Mazatlan FC

The two teams are completely changed from the last season. Queretaro FC was sold entirely in the summer window; hence they lost most of their players, including star midfielder Marcel Ruiz. After so many changes in the squad, they still managed to score two goals against the Pumas.

Mazatlan FC is not in good form. They are considered to be one of the worst sides in the whole league and might end up being last in the points table. Mazatlan FC was formerly known as Monarcas Morelia. They were moved to the Pacific Coast during the off-season.

This move to the Pacific coast made them lose one of the most promising managers of the league named Pablo Puede. The new manager Paco Palencia has instilled the idea of playing the ball from the back, and the side has struggled in these strategies of the new manager.

The team's defensive capabilities are of significant concern since the manager is still trying to figure out the best center back who could play to his words. Although there are still some positives that can't be overlooked, the side needs to get better options in the upcoming transfer window.

Prediction: Mazatlan could lead the match over one goal.

MATCH 3: Club Leon vs. Monterrey

This is one of the most exciting encounters of the league. It is the clash between Leon, who was Monday night's soccer pick, and Monterrey, who are considered as the league favorites. The Club Leon has gained massive success over the last few years as they went on to be second in the Apertura and continued their hard work to be second in the shortened Clausura.

The team is highly known for its goal-scoring ability. Joel Campbell, the ex-Arsenal star signing a contract extension, can be of enormous benefit for the team. Skipper Ignacio Ambriz likes to play pure attacking style football and might follow the same tactics in this game.

On the other hand, Monterrey is a top-quality side and have already some quality football in the previous fixtures. Monterrey has made the best possible use of the Summer Transfer window to reorganize their squad. Funes Mori one of the star forwards who is in fine form and has already scored two goals in the opening match.

Monterrey is a complete squad with depth as well as quality substitutes for each position. The only problem is their back-line defense as the team has allowed 17 goals in the last ten encounters due to imperfect defending duties by some players. Players like Miguel Layun, Maxi Meza, and Vincent Janssen will play a massive role as substitutes in this match for Monterrey.

Prediction: High chance of the match ending up in a draw.
