Klopp’s Full Season: What to Expect from the Normal One?

Author: Priyanka Saxena on Jul 11,2016

Jurgen Klopp is undoubtedly the manager Liverpool needs now.

Arsene Wenger is still reigning at Arsenal, Jose Mourinho joined Manchester United, Ronald Koeman is on the hot seat of Everton, Ranieri still has his eyes on the continuous development of Leicester City, Chelsea fans are jeering up for Conte and Mauricio Pochettino finally looks to stamp his authority on the league with Tottenham Hotspur.

Klopp managed Liverpool in the second half of 2015/16 amid poor results from Brendan Rodgers. He quickly imposed his authority on the teams play and sailed through to the final of the Uefa Europa League eliminating Borussia Dortmund and Villareal in the process.

In 2016/17 he has a chance to build a team from scratch since he would manage the team through pre-season.

Klopp Looking To Get the Job Done Through Transfers

Brendan Rodgers was adored by Liverpool fans but his transfers were boring as the players he purchased added nothing to the progress of team.

Few players such as Adam Lallana, Lovren Simon Mignolet and Philippe Coutinho were able to prove they were worthy of the Liverpool shirt.

Klopp comes into the season having eyes on some players such as Mario Gotze, a player he managed at Borussia Dortmund.

Mario Gotze’s three seasons at Bayern Munich has resulted in three Bundesliga titles but the performance of experienced midfielders relegated him to the bench.

Gotze to Liverpool would provide an unparalleled partnership between Coutinho and the German International. With two creative midfielders playing it out and creating chances for Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino, Liverpool would have a better chance of getting far in the league and heading back to Europe.

Klopp would be cutting his squad size in order to create space for new acquisitions. Footballers who are not committed to Klopp’s objectives would be shown the door because Klopp has been a success but there is something missing from his CV.

Klopp Wants To Win another Championship and a European Title

At Dortmund, Klopp won the Bundesliga twice in succession but lost the Champions League to Bayern Munich in a 1-2 loss.

At Liverpool, Klopp surprised many pundits by taken Liverpool back to a major European final since 2007, when they lost 1-3 to Sevilla.

Klopp is a wounded lion who would not accept a third straight defeat in a European final so would be preparing his team to qualify for Europe and meet that expectation.

Anfield is set for a spectacular season because all the players in the squad for the coming season would be handpicked by Klopp and they would all have a role to play in bringing Liverpool back to the pinnacle of world football.
