Host Selection For Major League Baseball All-Star Game

This year, it is the second time that the Major League Baseball All-Star Game is not hosted at the location that was originally decided. Multiple locations were selected for the match. The story goes back to 2019 when Atlanta was selected as the host for the game. It was decided that the game will be played at Trust Park in Atlanta for the first time. Then, in March 2021, the Election Integrity Act of 2021 was passed in the country. The act has some provisions that are considered to have a disproportionate impact on minority communities. This made it essential to change the host for the match.

On March 31, 2021, President Joe Biden said they "strongly support" moving the game out of Georgia to a new location. From March 31 to April 5, various sites were considered. Finally, on April 5, MLB announced Coors Field in Denver as the new host for the event.
