The Barbasol Championship is a professional golf tournament in Kentucky on the PGA Tour. It debuted in 2015 as an alternate event to The Open Championship in Britain.
The first three editions of the tournament were played in Alabama at the Grand National course of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Opelika, northeast of Auburn. It was the first PGA Tour event played in Alabama since the PGA Championship in 1990.
In 2018, the tournament moved to Kentucky to the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, south of Lexington.
It was the first PGA Tour event in the state in 59 years, excluding majors. This was since the Kentucky Derby Open in 1959. Valhalla Golf Club near Louisville hosted the PGA Championship in 1996, 2000, and 2014.
Like other alternate events, the winner of the Barbasol Championship does not earn an invitation to the Masters, and point values are limited due to the weaker field.
The winner receives 24 OWGR points and 300 FedEx Cup points. This is less when compared to 100 OWGR points and 600 FedEx points for Open Championship winners.
However, the winner still receives a two-year PGA Tour exemption and a trip to the PGA Championship.
World-renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills designed the Champions Course at Keene Trace Golf Club. It was built in 1987 by Tom Heilbron, a former president, and current member.
Although Arthur Hills has left his mark on many areas throughout the country, he put a special touch on Champion Trace in the late 1980s.
Since its inception, Champions has been rated as one of the best courses in Kentucky. It will be the home of the Barbasol Championship PGA Tour through 2023.

- Daily Ground Pass ($30-$40)
Each ticket valid any single day, from Thursday to Sunday. It provides admittance to the grounds.
- Weekly Ground Pass ($30-$40)
Each ticket is valid for all four days, from Thursday to Sunday. It provides admittance to the grounds.
- Child Grounds Pass (Free)
Children under 15 years are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult. This is courtesy of Commonwealth Credit Union. It provides admittance to the grounds.
- Military Appreciation Day (Free)
The organizers are committed to supporting and honoring our men and women in uniform and their families.
They are pleased to offer military service members from any branch up to four complimentary tickets for family and friends to attend the Barbasol Championship on any day.

Join the organizers at Champions Golf Club for Executive Women's Day at this year's Barbasol Championship. The day will bring together local business leaders and provide several opportunities for professional networking and personal development.
You can get a group together and book a table for ten or come solo and network. Remember that all tickets proceeds from this year's Executive Women's Day will benefit Caddie127 charities.
Individual ticket ($100) - Each ticket includes brunch for one, entry into giveaways, and raffles.

How to Volunteer
Do you have a passion for golf and want to get in on the PGA Tour action? Volunteers are an integral part of the Barbasol Championship and its ultimate success.
The players and spectators greatly appreciate the efforts of our Volunteers. It is no secret that the success of the event depends on our Volunteer force.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of the tournament and help enhance the experience for players, spectators, and sponsors. All the while, they are helping the local community who receive charitable donations from the tournament.
Depending on the committee on which you serve, the average workday is 5 to 6 hours long. Some assignments may require longer days, particularly Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Each volunteer is encouraged to work at least three days, but most choose to work more.
Volunteers will provide their khaki bottoms. Volunteers are required to wear the uniform on the days they are working. A small volunteer fee covers the cost of your uniform, which is from $35 to $50.
