The National Hockey League has announced the beginning of the 2021-22 regular season. October 12 will be the season’s opening night. Tampa Bay will raise their third Stanley Cup championship banner before coming face-to-face with the Pittsburgh Penguins at Amalie Arena. Following this, the first match of the 2021-22 regular season will begin. The NHL’s regular season has a total of 1,312-games, 82 games per team. From October 12, the season will go on till April 29. During this time, 30 NHL teams take to the ice, which will be fun and exciting to watch for all.

Carolina vs. Nashville

 

On October 6, these two teams faced each other in NHL preseason. In that exciting match, the Nashville Predators defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in overtime. The game started with Ryan Johansen and Jordan Staal’s face off. In the first period, both of the teams scored one goal each. After the third period, there was a tie with a scoreline of 2-2. To find the winner, the teams had to play overtime. Philip Tomasino from Nashville Predators scored the match-winning goal, helping his team win in overtime. With a score of 3-2, Nashville enjoyed victory in the NHL preseason. After this preseason match, both of these teams will be competing again during the NHL schedule this week, October 16 to 20, 2021.  

 

Columbus vs. Detroit

 

The NHL Preseason has already started, and Columbus gave a tremendous performance a couple of days ago. It was a friendly match where Columbus scored twice on the power play and won against the Detroit Red Wings with a 4-2 scoreline. In the first period, Columbus gained a 2-0 lead. The second period remained nil for both the teams with no goals. In the third and final period, Detroit came back with 2 goals, but Columbus Blue Jackets had also scored 2. After this interesting match, every hockey fan is looking forward to the game between these teams on October 19.
