Houston Open Golf Tournament - A Recap Of The 2021 Event

The Houston Open Golf Tournament returned to Houston in 2021. After several obstacles faced in the 2020 season, Hewlett Packard Enterprise successfully hosted the tournament this year.  

 

The Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open is the PGA Tour’s professional golf tournament played every year in Houston, Texas. Previously, this event was played in early October, but in 2019 it moved to the fall. Since the PGA Tour year began the previous autumn, this tournament was not part of the 2019 tour. This year, it was one of the first events of the PGA Tour.

 

The Houston Open Golf Tournament was played from November 11-14 at the Memorial Park Municipal Golf Course in Harris County. Prior to this, the event was played at several Houston venues, including Memorial Park Golf Course. However, after 1963, this was the first time that the tournament was played here. Houston Open Golf Tournament Course Details

 

Houston Open Golf Tournament 2021 was played at one of the best municipal courses in the nation - Memorial Park Golf Course. After 1963, this was the first time that the Houston Open Golf Tournament was played at this course.

 

The Memorial Park Golf Course is a world-class golf course visited by over 60,000 patrons every year. Tom Doak, the notable golf course architect, was the man behind the construction of this masterpiece. He designed this course with a state-of-the-art stormwater irrigation system that has the capability of retaining over 80 million gallons of stormwater that can be further used for multiple purposes. This remains the highlight of the course.

- Winner: Jason Kokrak

- Runner Ups: Scottie Scheffler and Kevin Tway

 

The 2021 Houston Open Golf Tournament final leaderboard was headed by an American professional golf player, Jason Kokrak. This was his third PGA Tour title in 2021. He shot 5-under 65 to post a 10-under 270 total and managed to win the tournament by two strokes. His score was enough to win over Kevin Tway and Scottie Scheffler. Out of the total winner’s purse of $7,500,000, Kokrak took home $1,350,000.

 

After Jason Kokrak, Kevin Tway, and Scottie Scheffler finished T-2 at 7 under and took the position of runner-up of the tournament. Being runner-ups, each of them took home $667,500 out of the total purse. Then, Kramer Hickok finished in solo fourth place and got $367,500 as a prize. 

 

Houston Open Golf Tournament Ticketing

 

For providing a better experience, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open Golf Tournament offered multiple ticket options. There were different tickets that made it possible to catch the action without spending a huge chunk of money. If you are eager to know about the ticketing, here is the list. 

 

- General Admission: $45 to $55

This is the day-specific general admission ticket available for spectators. These tickets must be purchased for each day separately, and then a spectator can enjoy the match from across all the 18-holes. An individual can access any area listed as “Open to the public” with a GA ticket. This pass is not required for kids of age 15 or below. They get free access to the tournament when accompanied by an adult. 

 

- Venue Hopper: $125

Houston Open Golf Tournament 2021 has introduced a new venue hopper pass. This is the pass that provides the spectator access to the golf course as well as four separate venues to play at during the tournament. These four venues are Cantina at 15, SAS Shoes at 15th tee, Courtyard at 18, and 9th Green Venue. Along with this, the individual will get complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages during tournament play. However, alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Kids of age 4 or above must have this pass to access any hospitality services. 

 

- Parking Ticket: $20

There will be two parking passes available for the spectators: GA Parking - North West Mall and GA Parking - Minute Maid Park. One can buy any of the passes that will suit their location. However, the parking pass must be purchased before reaching the destination. To make commuting easier, the shuttles will be there that will take the individual to and from the parking lot to the main entrance. 

 

Note: In 2021, the Astros Golf Foundation decided not to host the Houston Open Concert Series. The series got canceled, and all the individuals who purchased the pass got a full refund.
