NFL Schedules Week 1 Match Details

Dallas Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the second-shortest odds to capture this year's trophy as well. They are preseason favorites in the NFC. They are the most prominent team playing in week 1. Superstar Tom Brady's first season with the team was remarkable. His passing touchdowns were the highest he had thrown in the past 14 years. Tom's touchdowns to interceptions over the season's final months and the playoffs boosted the team to an epic Super Bowl win. The player is in the senior bracket in terms of age for sportspersons. But he is not showing any signs of slowing down yet. Further, he has great odds to get the most valuable player this time around.

The Dallas Cowboys are a mystery this year. The team rallied back to have a go at the NFC East in the last week despite losing the services of Dak Prescott after a few games. The player returns this season with some of the shortest odds to win the most valuable player award. He is also the most favored to win the award of Comeback Player of the Year. The team has a tremendous offensive lineup that can do wonderful things when it is at peak strength. Last year, it had a lot of points in the first five weeks. This season will depend on the defensive end of the team. The defensive unit severely underperformed last season. The defensive coordinator was removed after only one season. Micah Parsons, a first-round pick, is the preseason contender to get the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. The team was considered close contenders last year. Maybe this is their year.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Atlanta Falcons

Philadelphia and Atlanta had some of the worst NFL records last season. Both teams have made coaching changes in the past months. Nick Sirianni and Arthur Smith have served as offensive coordinators for a couple of the top-scoring teams in the NFL. They now come in as debutant head coaches. Atlanta is the favorite to win this match. The team has changed its offensive lineup by choosing Kyle Pitts over Matt Ryan and getting Mike Davis. He had an amazing number of scrimmage yards last year. Philadelphia has got DeVonta Smith to play alongside Jalen Hurts. Both the teams had a lackluster campaign last year.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills

The two teams met late in the season last year. Buffalo had defeated Pittsburgh in that game. They looked set to meet again in their Divisional Round. But Pittsburgh dropped the playoff opener. So, the rematch is set to take place this year. Buffalo is the favorite to win this match. They are predicted to win the most number of matches besides Tampa Bay and Kansas City. Josh Allens went a step ahead in the previous season when he led the Bills to numerous wins and an appearance in the AFC Championship game. He had a large number of touchdowns, and the completion percentage also increased drastically. This can also be attributed to the appearance of Stefon Diggs. He led the league with the most catches and receiving yards last year. These two are also on the team this time. Buffalo had one of the best offenses last year and the best record against the spread. They covered each of their final regular-season matches.

The Steelers had an incredible start before they went on a small losing streak to end the year. It is predicted that the fall will continue this year because the Steelers only have average odds at best to win the AFC North. Their preseason wins total was also not set very high. The defensive lineup is great and was ranked one of the best in points and yards allowed. But their season could well be determined by how well Ben Roethlisberger plays. The player looked fit last year. But the team still lost four matches on the offensive line and got the running back Najee Harris recently. This may be one of the last chances for the team to utilize Ben. Buffalo is not going to make it easy for the team.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Vikings have been very inconsistent for the past many years under the management of Mike Zimmer. The team has never made the playoffs in consecutive years. Some years they have double-digit wins. The other seasons had nearly nine wins under their belt. After having an underwhelming year in 2020, you would like to think that the pattern would repeat itself, and they will have a great year. If that is so, the team could well be underway to win more than eight games this season. Minnesota is the favorite in the first week. They can get their campaign to the right start with a win over Cincinnati.

The Bengals get back Joe Burrow after a knee injury last year that ended his campaign. It could have won him the Rookie of the Year award. The team only won a few games last year. But they did better than the spread. The team can improve its overall record with the help of an improved receiving lineup and a fit Burrow. But it has to ensure that the points per game are not as low as last year again. They also have one of the worst defensive lineups in the NFL. This is not good news for them, as Dalvin Cook still plays for the Vikings. There is a good chance that the team can get a win in this match. But there are still doubts about their sustainability over the entire season.

San Francisco 49ers vs Detroit Lions

There is a lot of talk about the San Francisco 49ers. The team was termed as favorites in the preseason in the NFC West. They had some of the shortest odds to win the NFC. This was even when they had not announced a starting quarterback. Jimmy Garropolo played a crucial role in the team winning the Superbowl a few years ago. Trey Lance was the third pick in this year's draft. He is also a firm favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. The team had a season full of injuries last year. But they start as favorites in their first game of the season this year.

In the current offseason, Detroit changed some things in their camp. They got Dan Campbell as the head coach. They also picked Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford in the draft. Goff did not have many passing touchdowns last season. It was the fewest he had thrown since his first year. The change in the team can help him. But it can be for naught as Lion's defense is not up to the mark at all.
